Cowboy Poet

Ted Hoffman

Ted Hoffman practiced veterinary medicine in Mountain Home Idaho from 1982 to

2009. During that time he and his family built a herd of beef cattle which they ran

on leased pastures and ranches until they bought a ranch on Canyon Creek near

Mountain Home in 2000. Now that his daughter Kate, her husband Jeremy Mink and

their two boys manage the ranch, Ted has the time to focus on writing and

performing Western poetry and music that describe the people and the work of

producing America’s meat in the West. He is a member of the Cowboy Poets of

Idaho and published a book of his poems and related drawings of Western artist

John Schutte entitled “This is Still the West” in 2020
